Teaching

Keefe Ismael has taught students from the elementary school all the way through the adult-amateur level.

I strongly believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to make music. With experience teaching both in the classroom and the private lesson setting, I am heavily invested in helping students of all levels reach their goals.

Testimony

“I did trombone lessons with Keefe for about 2 years and I can confidently say he is an amazing teacher! I improved so much in a relatively short time - I went from not being able to play the instrument at all to playing intermediate-level pieces with my school’s concert band and musical theatre pit ensemble. I loved that the lessons were challenging enough to push me to become a better musician and the focus on fundamentals (scales, breathing exercises, etc.). I’ve gained so many skills that I’ll continue to use in my musical pursuit!”

-Ruby C., Student at Notre Dame High School in San Jose, CA.

“[Keefe has] an excellent grasp of fundamental brass technique, the ability to work with multiple instruments simultaneously, excellent classroom management skills, and a zeal for teaching!”

-Myles E., Band Director at Piedmont Hills High School in San Jose, CA.

“I appreciate how flexible and accommodating [Keefe was] of both the facilities changes as well as with constant changing student needs. Tone and fullness of our low brass sound expanded and improved throughout the course of the year. Students became more consistent and confident in their use of air and uniformity of articulation.”

-Jon J., Band Director at Redwood Middle School in Saratoga, CA.
